Rehabilitation and Strengthening/Conditioning
Rehabilitation and strengthening/conditioning are considered two separate entities when recovering from an injury. In the early stages of rehabilitation the initial focus involves minimizing the inflammatory response, enhancing tissue healing, increasing ROM and strength.
Strengthening and conditioning is the second phase of recovery and includes designing and implementing sport and/or work specific exercises to achieve your goal of a return to full function. It involves improving overall physical conditioning including cardiovascular fitness and muscle strength.
